Current state of research and teaching activities
Many current applications rely on signal-processing technologies, and tremendous interest and research efforts are concentrated in this field. We especially focus on research of one-dimensional signal processing and explore state-of-the-art technologies made possible by this research, such as acoustics and speech signal processing. The applications of this research are wide-ranging, and our interests include the following interdisciplinary areas:
- acoustics and acoustic information processing,
- speech signal processing (e.g., speech enhancement),
- speech analysis and speech synthesis,
- speech / language recognition and spoken language processing,
- speech perception and psychoacoustics,
- acoustics for speech disorders,
- speech processing for hearing impaired,
- real-time signal processing using DSP processors, and
- algorithms and applications of signal processing.
